English Heritage is a charity that manages over 400 historic monuments, buildings and places. These include prehistoric sites, medieval castles, Roman forts and country houses.
Since it was established in 19thcentaury it brings the story of England to life for over 10 million people each year”. Within its portfolio are 66 castles, 1 battlefield 23 historic gardens,84 ecclesiastical sites,53 Roman Sites, 27 forts and defences,58 prehistoric sites which include Stonehenge, Dover Castle, Tintagel Castle and the best-preserved parts of Hadrian’s Wall.
